Owen's Flowers

After Owen faithfully (over)watered his seeds he received from Nana for Easter, the sunflowers FINALLY bloomed four months later.  Owen planted, or rather dumped, the seeds into a large pot of dirt in May.  Thankfully we have had a very hot and sunny summer this year for them to grow. He patiently waited all summer and finally this week we found six vibrant yellow sunflowers.  He has been enjoying his flowers and has already picked and given away two of them.  Just this morning as he was eating breakfast he noticed the last bud had bloomed.  He was so anxious to go outside and see it that he could not even finish his breakfast.  When he got outside to see the flower he proudly stated, "that one's my favorite!"

It has brought us great joy to see Owen enjoy the beauty of the flowers God made.
In addition, it has been a wonderful opportunity for us to practice being thankful to Jesus and delight in this gift of flowers He created for us to enjoy.

  1. The girls *loved* the way Owen presented his flower to Bethie. They keep reenacting the cuteness of it! So, so sweet :).
