GOING ON A PUDDLE HUNT

There is something about a downpour of rain that is so exciting to watch and listen to from indoors.  It is soothing and refreshing!  Ahhhh!!

But, once the downpour turns to a drizzle you must rush to put your rain boots and coat on and go outside on a puddle hunt!  Well, that's what we like to do after a rain storm.

We found the biggest puddle and started splashing!

Watching Owen jump in the puddles made me wish for a pair of my own rain boots so I could jump with him.  As I watched Owen splash in the puddles, with a beaming smile, it flooded back many memories of times my sisters and I jumped in puddles together.  We would run outside after a downpour of rain and jump in the giant puddle by the drain in our little cul-de-sac.  We would jump, laugh, run and squeal with joy.  After we were jumped-out, soaking wet and freezing cold we would run back inside and put on some warm, dry and cozy clothes.  I wish I could go back in time for a moment and do it again with my sisters!

Owen's puddle jumping also gave me a new appreciation for my mom who allowed and encouraged us to jump in puddles and get all wet.  Thank you mom for allowing me to experience the joy of puddle jumping that I can now pass on to my boys!
